Liberty Elite FAQs
What is Liberty Elite AAU Basketball?
Liberty Elite is the spring AAU travel program that will practice and compete from March – June. They will compete in 6 total tournaments in that time period. Three tournaments will be held at The Liberty Arena, so you will not have to worry about travel fees, tolls, hotels, etc. Liberty Elite players will also have weekly practices, a dedicated coach, and will be given a team uniform.
How much does it cost to try-out for the Team Liberty AAU basketball program?
The cost of the tryout is $25 for each participant. Players successful in tryouts will have that $25 of their tryout fee applied towards final registration costs.
How many tryouts does my child need to attend and what is the selection process like?
It is recommended that each player attend all tryouts because selections will be based on coach evaluations of performance during the tryout period. However, attending only 1 tryout date is mandatory. Click here to view the 2017 tryout schedule.
What if I cannot make it to any of the tryout dates?
There will be a makeup date of March 19th. Boys of all ages will be held between noon and 1 pm. Girls of all ages will be held between 1 pm and 2 pm. This is also shown on the 2017 tryout schedule (linked above).
Does the Team Liberty AAU program have different levels for each team?
Final decision on the number of teams will be made during assessments. The clear delineation between different teams in a similar age level will be in scheduling, player development programming, and playing time issues. This is always an area of debate, as evaluations with regards to talent level and “right fit” are somewhat subjective, but we always strive to do our best with player placement.
